Overzicht

Ionising radiation offers various applications in industry and in the medical sector. It is a challenge to sufficiently protect the workers, public and environment against possible detrimental effects of radiation.

This training session is part of a series of sessions organised in the framework of the continuous professional development  in radiation protection in the medical sector. The aim is to discuss the most recent status of relevant subjects in radiation protection for professionals responsible for the supervision of exposed workers, public and environment. Emphasis is put on practical information and on interaction with the participants.

This training session is eligible for 3 points of continuous professional development in radiation protection for the prolongation of the certification of Medical Doctors for medical supervision (art. 75 Royal Decree 20 July 2001), Radiologists, Medical Doctors using x-rays, Medical Specialists in Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy (art. 53 Royal Decree 20 July 2001). Depending on the relevance for the personal function, this training session is also eligible as continuous professional development for experts in Health Physics (art. 73 Royal Decree 20 July 2001). A certificate of attendance will be provided.

This training course aims at all professionals who are directly involved in the control or supervision of radiation protection issues, such as:

  • Medical Doctors for medical supervision
  • Radiologists
  • Medical Doctors using x-rays
  • Medical Specialists in Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy
  • Experts in health physics who supervise the measures in radiation protection in the medical sector.

Programma

Voorkennis

Knowledge of the basic principles of ionising radiation is recommended, but not required.

No preparation is required for this training course.

The registration fee is € 60 (incl. VAT) and includes the course material and coffee break.
