Overzicht

December 10, 2015: Training course on covariances and nuclear data for master students and beginning PhD students

This Topical Day, with a student seminar planned on December 10, 2015, aimed to bring together scientists and engineers involved in the generation of nuclear data and their uncertainty and those using these data to model nuclear systems and assess uncertainties on the parameters they calculate. The Topical Day included lectures on nuclear data, models & tools for uncertainty quantification and application of these tools to real-life engineering problems.

December 11, 2015: Topical Day on generation and use of covariance data for engineers, scientists from research and industry; master and PhD students

This Topical Day plus student seminar was organized by the SCK•CEN Academy in collaboration with the EC-JRC-IRMM and had support from the IAEA.

Day 1: December 10, 2015 | Training course on covariances and nuclear data for master students and beginning PhD students

This student seminar aims to bring together scientists and engineers involved in the generation of nuclear data and their uncertainty and those using these data to model nuclear systems and assess uncertainties on the parameters they calculate.

Day 2: December 11, 2015 | Topical Day on generation and use of covariance data for engineers, scientists from research and industry; master and PhD students

The Topical Day itself includes lectures on nuclear data, models & tools for uncertainty quantification and application of these tools to real-life engineering problems.

Both days are organized by the SCK•CEN Academy in collaboration with the EC-JRC-IRMM and has support from the IAEA.

The following topics will be treated:

  • Uncertainty on nuclear data: from measurements to evaluated data files
  • Uncertainty quantification and propagation techniques
  • Application of uncertainty quantification in nuclear energy engineering topics
