2024 in focus
Discover SCK CEN’s brand-new annual report ‘Highlights 2024’
We're proud to present our brand-new annual report entitled ‘Highlights 2024’. This edition will focus entirely on knowledge, as 2024 was the year in which our knowledge continued to grow and became increasingly intertwined. Continually acquiring knowledge enables us to discover definitive scientific solutions. Step by step, it also brings us nearer to our objective: A better tomorrow.
What is Highlights 2024 all about?
This annual report shines a light into the very heart of our research centre – knowledge. It explores how knowledge comes to life: how it is rooted in what exists already, how curiosity causes it to sprout new branches, and how it ultimately helps us shape the world around us. “For us, 2024 was the year in which we continued deepening and enriching our knowledge so that future generations can continue to benefit from the social progress it brings about. So that they, in turn, can continue building on the foundations we laid for them in the past. After all, knowledge rests on the shoulders of generations of researchers that went before us,” said Peter Baeten, Director General of SCK CEN. The SCK CEN nuclear research centre is therefore proud to present its brand-new annual report entitled ‘Highlights 2024’. This annual report will guide you quickly and easily through our accomplishments in our knowledge domains.
