SCK CEN at EANM’25
Why visit SCK CEN at EANM’26?
For decades, SCK CEN has combined a unique blend of nuclear expertise, state-of-the-art research infrastructure and strong partnerships. As a result, we can support organisations at various stages of their radiopharmaceutical R&D process.
3 pillars
-
with specialist researchers from various disciplines collaborating on radiopharmaceutical R&D, from molecular mechanisms to clinical roll-out.
-
including our BR2 research reactor, the Centralized Radiochemical Facility (CRF) and various specialist laboratories for pre-clinical research and radiochemical applications.
-
with industrial and academic stakeholders around the world, tailored to different needs and forms of collaboration, and based on a shared vision.
Together, these trumps create fertile ground for developing innovative radiopharmaceuticals. At EANM’26, you will not only discover what SCK CEN has to offer, but above all, which form of collaboration is best suited to your specific R&D needs.
Our focus at EANM’26
-
1. Radioligand therapy
Radioligand therapy offers superb potential in the fight against cancer. Thanks to our many years of expertise in the nuclear field, direct access to radioisotopes and in-depth knowledge of dosimetry, we help develop precision treatments that specifically target tumours while avoiding healthy tissue as much as possible.
-
Preclinical research
At SCK CEN, we bring together multidisciplinary expertise and specialised infrastructure to support various aspects of pre-clinical research. From receptors and tumour models to ligand development, conjugation and radiolabelling, pharmacokinetics, small-scale dosimetry and therapeutic efficacy; our expertise can be deployed in specific domains, depending on the requirements at each stage of the development process.
In this way, we support partners at specific stages of the preclinical process and help drive innovative radiopharmaceuticals towards clinical application.
-
Irradiation in BR2
With our BR2 research reactor, SCK CEN has specialised infrastructure to produce medical radioisotopes. BR2 supplies radioisotopes for the diagnosis and treatment of millions of patients worldwide.
Thanks to our nuclear expertise and central location in Europe, we ensure the reliable production and efficient distribution of medical radioisotopes.
-
Radiochemical purification
With our Centralized Radiochemical Facility (CRF), SCK CEN has specialised infrastructure for the radiochemical purification of medical radioisotopes. Using advanced separation techniques, we facilitate the further development and production of existing and new medical isotopes and strive to achieve a high level of chemical and radionuclide purity, in accordance with European Pharmacopoeia standards.
Don’t have everything you need internally? You don't need to.
Developing new radiopharmaceuticals requires specialist knowledge, technology and infrastructure. Not every organisation has all the necessary resources in-house to take a development project forward.
SCK CEN can provide the necessary support where there is a need for expertise, capacity or specialised infrastructure. This can range from support with a single specific research step or using technology platforms, to co-development, co-creation and broader forms of collaboration.
