Ionising radiation offers various applications in industry and in the medical sector. It is a challenge to sufficiently protect the workers, public and environment against possible detrimental effects of radiation.
This training session is part of a series of sessions organised in the framework of the continuous professional development in radiation protection in the medical sector. The aim is to discuss the most recent status of relevant subjects in radiation protection for professionals responsible for the supervision of exposed workers, public and environment.
This training session is eligible for 3 hours of continuous professional development in radiation protection for the prolongation of the certification of occupational health physicians. It is also eligible for 1h30 for below-mentioned professionals:
- Radiologists;
- Connexists;
- Nuclear medicine physicians;
- Medical physics experts in nuclear medicine;
- Medical physics experts in radiotherapy;
- Medical physics experts in radiology;
- Entitled staff (Nurses, paramedics and technologists).
Groupe cible
All professionals who are directly involved in the control or supervision of radiation protection issues, such as:
- Medical Doctors for medical supervision;
- Medical Specialists in Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy;
- Experts in Health Physics who supervise the measures in radiation protection in the medical sector.

Connaissances nécessaires
Knowledge of the basic principles of ionising radiation is recommended, but not required.
Préparation
No preparation is required for this training course.
Prix
The registration fee is 223,85 EUR, VAT included (185,00 EUR + 21% VAT).
Cancellation with total refund is only possible until February 17, 2023.

SCK CEN reserves the right to cancel a training course or event (e.g. in case of low number of registrations) without reimbursement of already made travel and accommodation arrangements.

SCK CEN has the right to modify the programme, cancel or postpone the training course at any time based on further instructions imposed by the Belgian government or internal instructions by the SCK CEN General Management related to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Logement
The training session takes place on Thursday March 2, 2023 from 14.00 h until 17.00 h in the Faculty club, Leuven.

You can park on the visitors parking. After registration you will receive a parking code.
Please note that the PIANOFORTE project provides travel grants for early career radiation protection professionals (who are max 7 years after starting their career) coming from outside Belgium to attend training courses related to radiation protection.
