SCK CEN & NIRAS together for geological disposal and transmutation for radioactive waste

ONDRAF/NIRAS and SCK CEN have worked closely together already for decades to demonstrate the safety and feasibility of geological disposal, and will continue to do so in the future. Starting from their both respective legal missions, ONDRAF/NIRAS and SCK CEN will continue to work together to develop a sustainable waste management strategy for the Belgian high-level and long­lived radioactive waste inventory, taking into consideration novel approaches that could favour its implementation.
