ANUBIS: ALARA planning tool
3D radiation dosimetry by ANUBIS project
Overview
The ANUBIS ALARA planning system is a software that simulates radiation fields, calculates
personal doses, plans a series of actions in the simulated environment, and generates work plan
reports with dose estimates.
The application can also be used to help create post-work dose assessment reports, with the option to modify the radiological model to increase estimate accuracy with full Monte-Carlo simulations. Furthermore, the software supports the presentation of information to various categories of users for training and decision-making, hence facilitating communication amongst workers.
The software package is designed primarily to support in radiological protection planning and optimizing
of protection within dose constraints for planned activities. It can also be used as an online computational
personal dosimetry system that compliment legal passive dosimeters.
The general workflow for radiological protection planning, optimization and monitoring, supported by the
ANUBIS ALARA planning system, is as follows:
- Characterization: radiation mapping and source definition
- Modelling: geometry creation or import 3D scan
- Planning: scenarios creation and work plans
- Simulation: perform calculations and review results
- Visualization: 3D visualization and navigation
