Dosimetry and calibration at SCK CEN

Quality management system in SSDL and individual monitoring laboratory

Objective

Week 1:

  • 1 day: general introduction SCK CEN, NMA Institute, RDC and DCS groups, Dosimetry service
  • 1 day: general introduction to OSL dosimetry system
  • 3 days: participate in preparation of dosemeters

Week 2:

  • 1 day: general introduction to Instadose system
  • 1 day: QA system
  • 3 days: participate in receiving and opening of dosemeters

Week 3:

  • 1 day: general introduction to extremity dosimetry
  • 1 day: general introduction to calibration service and anthropogammametry
  • 3 days: participate in reading of dosemeters

Week 4:

  • 1 day: general introduction to dosimetry research
  • 1 day: final review of QA system
  • 2 days: learn on calculation, validation and reporting of results
  • 1 day: conclusion and final questions

The minimum diploma level of the candidate needs to be

  • Academic bachelor

The candidate needs to have a background in

  • Biology
  • Physics
  • Radiation protection or dosimetry
