Are you the project coordinator we are looking for?

MYRRHA is an accelerator-driven reactor (Accelerator Driven System) being developed at SCK CEN (https://myrrha.be/en/). MYRRHA will offer unprecedented research opportunities in, among other things, the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel, in nuclear medicine, and in fundamental and applied physics.

For the design of the reactor part of the MYRRHA project, we are looking for a project coordinator for the Reactor Research and Engineering (RRE) expertise group at the Advanced Nuclear Systems (ANS) institute, who will support the reactor team with the following activities:

  • defining and structuring the activities and tasks in collaboration with the management and the project leaders
  • monitoring and updating the project planning
  • defining, monitoring and managing the allocated budget, time schedule and risks for the project
  • in collaboration with the engineers involved, project leaders and our purchasing department, monitoring the purchasing process and the selection of suppliers,
  • ensuring project reporting based on time schedule and budget
  • drawing up processes in collaboration with the project leaders
  • managing information flows and ensuring the consistency of the documentation structure

To join this frontier, you'll need

  • Master's degree in engineering or natural sciences with experience in project management, or a Master's degree in commercial sciences with a strong technical affinity/experience
  • certifications in project management, e.g. PRINCE2 or PMP, are an added advantage
  • ideally some experience in planning and managing of projects with high technological content in an international context with a large number of internal and external stakeholders
  • general background in technology in an R&D environment (in industry or in the research sector)
  • knowledge of and/or experience with the use of project management tools
  • a positive, dynamic, “can-do” attitude
  • pragmatic, immune to stress and punctual
  • people management skills and strong interpersonal skills that will make you feel at home in an international and multicultural research environment in a position with a multitude of stakeholders involved
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with knowledge of French and Dutch as an advantage or prepared to follow language courses
