Nuclear Systems Design
Our mission
The Nuclear Systems Design expert group (NSD) conceives irradiation devices to meet customers' requirements regarding:
- Fluence
- Temperature
- Chemistry
We control or perform the design, manufacturing, assembly and testing of the installations developed for large research reactors, particularly BR2.
The Nuclear Systems Design expert group has two main fields of irradiation devices:
Devices for scientific and technological programmes
-
Fuels and materials for different fission reactor types, ADS and fusion reactors
Fuel for Lead Reactor - Heat up phase (6 MB) - View online - Fuels for MTR's
- Safety tests
- Diagnostics and remote handling sensors
- In-pile instrumentation (mainly for use in irradiation devices)
Devices for commercial productions
- Radioisotopes for medical and industrial purposes
- Neutron transmutation doping of silicon (electronic industry)
