Organising committee

The workshop is being organized in the framework of the IUR-IAEA Practical Arrangements for the exchange and dissemination of information within the EMRAS II project, Working Group 6 on Biota dose effects modelling - Multiple Stressors.

This workshop is organised by the unit Biosphere Impact Studies (BIS) from the Belgian Nuclear Research centre (SCK•CEN). As its major research domains BIS studies the mechanism and processes that rule the behaviour of radionuclides in the biosphere, develops a groundwater-soil-vegetation interaction model to assess the long-term impact of perennial vegetation systems on the dispersion of radionuclides and contamination of the food chain, studies biological effects induced in terrestrial and aquatic plants by radiation, radionuclide uptake and mixed contaminant conditions; and develops and improves tools and models for assessing the radiological impact to man and environment.
